More important than the practices are the core principles behind them and the mindset required to build up a disciplined approach to meetings. Collecting notes from various training, books, courses, experiences during over 15 years of my career, I&nbsp;am going to share with you two checklists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can read the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.danieledavi.com\/blog\/2021\/11\/extremely-efficient-and-effective-meetings-facilitator-checklist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.danieledavi.com\/blog\/2021\/11\/extremely-efficient-and-effective-meetings-facilitator-checklist\/\">meeting facilitator&nbsp;checklist at this link<\/a>.<br \/>Below is the handy checklist for participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before the meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Is your attendance at this meeting necessary or not?<br \/>Do you need to reject, accept tentatively&nbsp;or propose a new time?<br \/>Did you challenge&nbsp;the organiser, if applicable?<br \/>Did you propose a substitute or different audience,&nbsp;if applicable?&nbsp;<br \/>If you say &#8220;yes&#8221; to this meeting, what else would you&nbsp;need to say &#8220;no&#8221;?<br \/>Have you scheduled yourself to attend the meeting?<br \/>Are you clear if this is a mission or process meeting?<br \/>Have you read the agenda?<br \/>Have you read the required documentation?<br \/>Have you prepared for your role in the meeting?&nbsp;<br \/>Have you completed your deliverables in advance,&nbsp;if any?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">During the meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you arrived at the meeting on time?<br \/>Have you left mobiles, laptops, distractions, distracting and not needed devices outside of the room?<br \/>Have you silenced your devices?<br \/>Do you stick to your assigned role at the meeting?<br \/>Do you help reinforce the ground rules?<br \/>Do you agree with the outcomes or &#8216;disagree and commit&#8217;?<br \/>Do you stick to the brainstorming ground rules, if applicable?<br \/>Are you listening actively?Are&nbsp;you contributing proactively?<br \/>Do you involve and include others in talking and providing inputs?<br \/>Do you observe if you are talking too much?<br \/>Are you speaking for more than 3 minutes non-stop? <br \/>Have you paused and asked questions?<br \/>Are you capturing any cues? <br \/>Are you reading the room?<br \/>Do you use constructive confrontation techniques?<br \/>Do you collaborate respectfully&nbsp;and politely?<br \/>Do you ensure to stick to the meeting process and ground rules?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">After the meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you read the minutes?<br \/>Did you contribute to improve them, if applicable?<br \/>Did you complete your actions, deliverables?<br \/>Did you ask for support, if needed?<br \/>Did you propose your help, if applicable?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">* * *<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">I write about organizational patterns, transformational leadership, healthy businesses, high-performing teams, future of workplace, culture, mindset, biases and&nbsp;more.
